I’m Alex Cormier, a collegiate & Allstate jazz player and local musician. Trombone is my main instrument: playing in classical and various jazz bands as well as live venues like “Sax in the City”.
I’m constantly growing in my studies of different brass genres: one of my more prominent styles being Dixieland Jazz. Others big interests include Big Band and New Orleans Jazz.
Being a first chair contraband player and majoring in Music Education at MSU, I am well versed in music theory and put heavy emphasis and importance into ear training.
But no teacher is just a teacher. As I teach my students to grow and perfect their trade, I am actively figuring out ways to play more efficient everyday.
